“Everything is perfect! It is fabulous!” said Michael Robinson from Dublin shortly after his hip replacement surgery at HCB Denia. Michael, a single father of three boys, had horrible pain in his hip that was limiting his ability to look after his young son and run his family-owned window business. He reached out to Healthcare Abroad after treatment to try to save his hip at a costly private clinic back home was unsuccessful. “It actually made it worse and I was not reimbursed for any of it.”
“I went to A&E and they told me I was really young for a hip replacement and so I would have to wait possibly 3 to four years for treatment. I couldn’t play any sports or go camping with my sons and getting my youngest off to school was very painful as I could barely walk. I cut down work to three days a week and could barely get through that as doing any physical work was very painful and I am not much good in the office. I felt like I was letting my family down and my whole life came to a standstill.”
“I was lucky to have the support of my family through it and it was actually my auntie that told me about a friend who had got a similar operation through Healthcare Abroad. My sister went on the website and gave me the phone number to call. I knew that with the pain being that bad I had to make that call.”
“The whole process from the logistics to financial end of things to operation and recovery have gone like clockwork. Meeting others at the hotel who are in the exact same boat and have had the operation done and are doing so well, gives you confidence going in. The Healthcare Abroad staff, surgeon and hospital staff were so caring to both me and my son who travelled with me.”
“I know I am now a totally different person than the one that got on that flight over. Getting back to being able to work full-time and contribute to the family business is of course something I am looking forward to. Most of all I am so looking forward to once again spending time with my boys playing football and enjoying life. One my favorite things is going for a long walk with my youngest son and our dogs in the countryside on Sunday morning, and I am so happy that I will get to do that again. I usually wouldn’t say nowt but people need to know about Healthcare Abroad and get the help they need.”
