As a cross-border healthcare service, we help people by-pass long waiting lists for treatments in Ireland, so they can receive free, state of the art treatment in EU countries, under the EU Cross-Border Healthcare Directive. We are with you through every step of your Healthcare journey.
Who We Are
Healthcare Abroad is an Irish healthcare logistics agency which matches Irish patients seeking treatment with the best consultants in 85 private hospitals in Spain, Portugal and The Netherlands.
We provide consultant hospital appointments, schedule surgery/procedure appointments, organise transport and hotel accommodation, provide carer support in the chosen hospital and we do all the paperwork so that patients get their costs reimbursed under the EU Cross Border Health Directive.
This Directive gives all 450 million EU citizens – including Irish citizens – the right to healthcare in any other EU country with the HSE reimbursing all or most of the costs, depending on the treatment.
Our Irish-led teams are based in both Ireland and in the EU cities where our patients are treated.
