“Everything Was Handled So Smoothly” – Lois’s Hip Surgery Journey in Spain
From Pain to Possibility
I was in unbearable nerve pain, and I couldn’t wait any longer. I made the call on a Tuesday, before I knew it, I was in Spain. I had my hip replacement using the anterior approach on Wednesday at HCB Dénia with Healthcare Abroad. Everything moved so quickly and smoothly—it was incredible. Dr. Sendra was brilliant, a lovely man.
A Seamless Experience
From the moment I arrived, I was looked after. Blood tests, ECG, x-ray, meeting the surgeon and anaesthetist—all done efficiently on Monday. Surgery went ahead on Wednesday. The hospital was spotless, and every staff member was kind, helpful, and professional.
I stayed three nights in hospital, then returned to the hotel for recovery. Physiotherapy began straight away—45 minutes in the morning and again in the afternoon, every day. The physios were amazing. They gave reassurance, correction, encouragement—you feel safe and confident.
Total Peace of Mind
My daughter-in-law came with me first, then my daughter flew out. Healthcare Abroad arranged all the pickups—from airport to hospital to hotel. They even helped my family get where they needed to go. All the usual stress was completely removed.
