We at Healthcare Abroad are delighted to announce our latest partnership with Hospital HCB Dénia in Costa Blanca, Alicante, a new €60 million state-of-the-art hospital, has now officially opened, & will provide a plethora of treatments to Irish patients. – Almost every treatment that is currently available on the Irish public system will be provided at the new hospital.

HCB Hospitals, a leading Spanish hospital group, internationally accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI). JCI accreditation is awarded to only the highest class of medical facilities in the world. Additionally, HCB Hospitals has its own ‘Foreign Patient Care’ model that has been fully adapted for Irish patients. As typical with our model, the cost of treatment can be reclaimed through the HSE under the EU Cross Border Directive.

All treatments will be carried out by a world-class team of medics and we at Healthcare Abroad will support patients with all logistical elements of the process including clinical and diagnostic records, accommodation, flights, and post-care arrangements.

At the launch of our most recent partnership, Paul Byrne, Chief Operations Officer, Healthcare Abroad said; “Our strategic partnership with one of Spain’s premier hospital groups will transform the lives of many Irish patients, facilitating a faster pathway to access important healthcare treatments which will have an immediate impact on their quality of life. We support patients through the entire process, from liaising with Irish GP’s and the medical staff at the hospital as well as organising flights, accommodation, post-operative care, and financial supports if required.

We are acutely conscious of how stressful and debilitating ill-health can be and it is our mission to get people back to good health as quickly as possible and enable them to return to living full, healthy and active lives, free from pain and discomfort. In line with this commitment, we have worked closely with the team at the hospital to create an Irish ‘home from home’ atmosphere complete with bespoke Irish menus for patients to enjoy as they recuperate.

We would like to acknowledge the support of our partners at HCB Hospitales for facilitating us in our mission to enable patients to access care under the EU Cross Border Directive. Further to this, we are pleased to work with the Irish Credit Union Network to support patients with access to finance. Today, marks a sufficient milestone for Healthcare Aboard as a service and we look forward to supporting many Irish patients achieve a brighter future as they return to good health.”

Ana Vasbinder, Head of Hospital at HCB Dénia, also commented; “Today’s opening marks another significant milestone for HCB Hospitales. The opening of Hospital HCB Denia will provide patients with access to world-class facilities and exceptional care, supporting them on their journey back to good health.
